Creating a form

  1. Navigate to Connect > Forms.
  2. Click "Add A New Form" on the right.
  3. Name your form.
  4. Select what type of form you want to be creating.
    1. Display Form on Website: select this if the form is to be displayed on a page on your website. If "privacy" is checked, users will need to log in before filling out the form.
    2. Display Form during Event RSVP: select this to attach the form to the registration process for a given event.
    3. Display Form during Product Purchase checkout: select this to attach a form to the purchase process for a given Family of products.
  5. Fill out the remaining fields. Not sure what they're for?
  6. Click "Create".
  7. You now begin building the fields of your form. Here's an explanation of form sections and fields.
  8. You're now done creating a form!

Displaying a form on a webpage

When creating the form, select the form type Display form on Website. After you've completed the form build, navigate to the page you wish to display the form on and use the Insert Form button in the page's WYSIWYG editor and select the form you wish to display from the dropdown.

Displaying forms in Internet Explorer version 9:
When using the WYSIWYG editor to place a form into a page, you'll see a tag wrapped with curly brackets including the form name. By default, the WYSIWYG will place this tag in a paragraph "p" element. Internet Explorer version 9 will need this tag to instead be wrapped in the "div" element. To make this change, click and drag to select the form tag, then change "Paragraph" to "div" in the Format dropdown on the upper right corner of the editor. Save the page and test in IE9.

Attaching the form to an event registration

When creating the form, select the form type Display Form during Event RSVP and select the appropriate event. Please note that you cannot select a past event. The form will display when the user clicks the RSVP link on the event detail page and begins the registration process.

Attaching the form to a product purchase

When creating the form, select the form type Display form during Product Purchase checkout and select the appropriate product Family (you can select multiple Families if you wish). The form will appear for the user to fill out before completing the checkout process.

Forms and security

SSL encryption is a service not offered for forms embedded into site pages. Forms attached to event RSVP or product purchase processes, however, are sent through our secure server.
