Adding Media

The CMS supports all kinds of media including mp3, image files (jpg/ png), pdf, and a multitude of video files. Here's how to add a new media item to the CMS:

  1. Go to Media > Media.
  2. Click "Add New Media".
  3. Complete all fields.
  4. Use the browser to find the file on your computer or use "Enter URL" to reference a file that is hosted on another website.
  5. Click "Upload". The file will be added to the upload queue and will be available for use in moments.

Note:

  • It is recommended to give resources helpful names, especially if you will be uploading various versions of the same item.
  • If you're experiencing any issues uploading items, you may try the simpler Basic Uploader.

Bulk Upload

To upload many files at once or to upload large files exceeding the maximum filesize limit, you can use the Bulk Upload tool and upload files to your site's designated FTP bucket.

  1. Go to Media > Media > Bulk.
  2. Request a bulk media account if you haven't already. An account will be set up in minutes.
  3. Upload your files using an FTP client (see below for more).
  4. Refresh the Bulk Upload screen in the CMS. A listing of your files will appear.
  5. Name all files and choose the filetype-specific options if necessary.
  6. Click "Import Files". The files will begin transferring to your media library and will be available shortly.

Note:

  • Bulk Upload will not transfer files from inside folders. Upload all files to the root of the Bulk Upload directory, without placing any files in their own folders.
  • For very large files, expect longer wait times for your media to become available in the CMS.

Recommended FTP clients

Here are some of our favorite FTP clients you can use to upload bulk media. You may definitely use others not listed here.
