MANAGE GROUPS
List View
Note: "All Members" group produces a list of every member of the site. This is primarily used to see which users are unsubscribed to newsletters set to all members.
- Find: Begin typing the name of the content you would like to find and the system will perform a search. NOTE: Do not click the enter key as you type. This will remove the Search terms.
- Sort Function: When scrolling over the top of the list, the Heading turns dark and an Arrow appears next to the Heading. Once you see the Arrow, simply click the Heading to Sort the List in alpha-numeric order. Click again for a reverse order of the list.
- Edit Selected: To change the Publish Status or to Delete selected items, click the check boxes to the left of each item. When the boxes are checked, the "Edit Selected" button will turn on next to the Add button. Click "Edit Selected" to change Status or Delete.
- Edit Content: To edit your content, click the underlined words that are in a different color. When scrolling over the words, a pencil icon will appear and the row will change to a light orange.
Add a Group
- Group Name: The name of the group.
- Description: A description of what the group is about.
- Group Email Address: Contact email for the group. They will also receive notification emails.
- Public/Private: Specifies whether this group and it's content is publicly or privately viewable.
- Notification: The group email address will be sent a notification any time a member updates their profile.
Group Dashboard
After adding a group you can quickly get a feel for the group as well as do a number of group related tasks:
- Send Newsletter: Will take you to the newsletter module if this is enabled for your site. The newsletter will automatically be configured to send to the group.
- Members: Displays the number of members in the group. Clicking the pencil icon will take you to the list of members.
- Join Requests: Displays the number of members that have asked to join the group. Clicking the pencil icon will take you to the list of members wanting to join, they can be added from there.
- Add Group Discussion Board: Will allow you to start a new discussion board available only to members of the group.
- Add Group Blog: Will take you to the add a blog page.
Group Member List
- Click any member's name to view and edit their group settings.
- If the member has unsubscribed to the group newsletter, the word 'Unsubscribed' will appear in red in the Username & Email column.
Member Group Settings
- Membership Type: Administrators will be able to add/remove members form the group as well as edit content assigned to the group.
- Notifications: Email the group email address when updates are made.
