I tried renaming the “INDEX” page, and now my site doesn’t load correctly.
The home page of the site (the page that comes up when visiting the domain URL, www.sitename.com) must be named “INDEX” in the CMS backend. If the page is renamed, the CMS may try to create an independent page with the new name (at www.sitename.com/renamed). This causes a fundamental error with loading the site.
If the name of your home page is important for your search result preferences or for the verbiage or presentation on the page itself, the page name can be changed by a developer working with the INDEX template.
