I'm getting this error: "Cannot contact web server to publish changes"

Error message:

CANNOT CONTACT WEB SERVER TO PUBLISH CHANGES. CHANGES MAY NOT DISPLAY ON WEBSITE. IF THIS PROBLEM PERSISTS, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR.

Often this error is temporary and the CMS is able to Publish new content in about a minute.

If this error persists however, there are several known causes with which we will be happy to assist:

  • FTP credentials or other server connection settings are incorrect.
  • Site cache is too large or contains corrupt files.
  • Permissions of key directories, like /monkcache or /mediafiles, are incorrect.
  • Site has recently launched and DNS settings are still in propagation.
