Using Externally Hosted Media
It is possible to use media files hosted with other web hosting companies within the CMS. If the file can be accessed via a URL, it can be used in the CMS as if it was part of the Media Library.
Adding External Files
When adding media files via the Media Manager (or Articles, Sermons or other module upload screens), enter the URL in the "External Link" field.
Limitations
It should be noted that although this is a powerful feature, there are some limitations:
- The CMS is not able to optimize external images, video or audio files.
- The availability of the media file is beyond the control of the CMS. If the file disappears or the connection to the other web host is lost, the file will not be available for your site.
